Mystery Ranch x Carryology No Escape " Dragon" pack first impression review.

Mystery Ranch x Carryology No Escape Dragon backpack is a well thought designed EDC pack that is indestructible and waterproof that allows you to use it every day in any weather which mother nature throws at you. I guess it will worth every penny I spent on it. Tons of organizing compartments internally and externally to keep my things organized and ease of access will make our everyday life a little bit easier than you digging inside out of the bag to find your key or wallet or a pen.

The 2 seconds look.

The Mystery Ranch x Carryology No escape - code name " Dragon" packs arrived in our store about 2 months ago and everyone was excited to have a look. I opened one of the boxes and took it out of the plastic bag to have a look while my colleague counting at them for quantity check. I gave a quick good stare at the bag for 2 seconds. Oh yes. just 2 seconds and I put it back in the plastic bag.

Back in design school, I did an assignment that needs to pick up something on the street that took my attention within 2 seconds. In our daily life, our eyes see through a lot of things and only a few got our attention of course as a guy, a hot chick is one of them. If something can not attract attention within few seconds, it can be considered as bad design or unattractive. This pack really got my attention. It is something really different from most packs from Mystery Ranch. It feels light in my hand for the size of the pack. I think that the pack is smaller in size than the previous release Unicorn.  I am a sucker for camouflage and it comes in dark camo which is one of my favorite camo colors. Above all, it has a "STICK IT" which makes it complete to my liking. Since it was a 2 seconds look, I have no idea of the size of the pack. It is all flat, tall and I have no idea at all.

The detail.

Few days before the actual release of the Mystery ranch x Carryology No escape Dragon pack on 31st March 2021 Asian time which is 30 March 2021 Mountain Standard Time, we bring the packs to the store and I took out the pack for a photoshoot.

That's where I fall in love with this pack. It might look like the scape artist pack which is one of the earlier limited edition packs but Dragon is a different kind of beast. The use of Dyneema fabric and X50 X-PAC™ X-PLY LAMINATED NYLON FABRIC camo makes it totally indestructible and waterproof to its bone. On top of that, the fabrics make it lighter and stronger. That makes me think that it is lighter to hold for a pack of its size. It can be lighter but that will compromise the durability of the pack and functionality of the pack. I own a lot of products made with Dyneema. The durability and the lightness of the pack go in different directions like haven and hell.

I love the fact that it doesn't waste any space. There are plenty of organizing compartments everywhere in the pack inside out, even inside the slot where you keep the Tuck-a-way Origami waist belt. There is 2 pocket inside of it. One is an open pocket and another one with a zip. UNBELIEVABLE! The Quick access to the laptop compartment from the outside is a sweet touch. The "Stick it" can be tucked away in the zipper compartment at the bottom of the pack.

Internally 2 long cylinder pockets for bottles and maybe to keep the umbrella on either side. At the center waterfall, there is a laptop cum bladder compartment in the center and my favorite molle panel for organizing and attachments. On the other side which is the back of the U opening panel, There are zipped compartments for more organizing. No space has been wasted which I love it.

As for the load carry system, it used the famous Futura yoke which doesn't need any explanation about it. Since it made with waterproof fabric and waterproof zippers, you do not need a rain cover at all. Using one will be an insult. Not to forget, It comes with the most importantly " the Patch board". The pack without a patch board will be insane. So, there is a patch board and the limited edition samurai patch right on top of the top compartment.

Here is the fact about the size. It may be 25L but in overall size, it looks smaller than a unicorn to me. I do not own a unicorn but I have seen it before and I have seen it on other's backs. The Dragon looks more like an EDC pack than a weekend pack which makes me feel so attempting to get one. Without the "Stick It", it looks pretty stealth.

My final thought

It is a well thought designed EDC pack that is indestructible and waterproof that allows you to use it every day in any weather which mother nature throws at you. I guess it will worth every penny I spent on it. Tons of organizing compartments internally and externally to keep my things organized and ease of access will make our everyday life a little bit easier than you digging inside out of the bag to find your key or wallet or a pen. I like to keep my hiking packs as light as possible. So I usually carry single compartment top loader packs for my hiking. The lesser the zipper, the lesser the compartment means the lesser the weight of the pack but for EDC packs, they are good to be as organize as possible. I am keeping my eyes on it and hope I will get a chance to have one.
